SUMMARY:Migrating Meals: Gourmet family flavors of the Ukraine
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening with Ludmila and Gregory at European Foods\, a Ukrainian family owned Russian and Ukrainian restaurant\, deli\, and grocery store. Come learn about the Ukrainian refugee and immigrant community here in Seattle and the unique flavors they have brought with them. Ludmila\, Gregory\, their daughter Alina\, and her son will be joining us to share their immigration story and dinner menu hand picked by Ludmila. \nHere is their story: \n“For as long as we remember ourselves\, our family loved good food. Maybe because it was never available in such abundance in Russia where we grew up and lived until 20 years ago. Or maybe because European and especially Russian and Ukrainian foods are too delicious not to love. But the fact remains – our family always cooked gourmet food\, truly enjoyed discovering new dishes\, and many people around us always appreciated the dinners we often invited them for. \nFor the above reasons\, when we\, Ludmila (a registered nurse in the past) and Gregory (a civil engineer in his past life)\, immigrated to the United States 20 years ago\, it was almost obvious for us what kind of business we had to start here\, in the Land of Opportunities.\nLudmila got her chance to shine as the Most Creative Chief of the Russian and Ukrainian communities\, and her ever-changing menu never fails to pleasantly surprise people. \nGregory’s job is to make sure that everyone who comes to the store finds something to their delight – be that smoked meats or fish\, European cheese\, dairy\, chocolates\, German breads\, marinated vegetables\, or the best pierogi in town. Their collection of European beer and wine is simply the best.”

Then you need lean launch! \nIf you have completed our First Step series\, you are invited to register for our next meet up on Thursday\, February 2nd\, from 10am to 12noon\, at Impact HUB Seattle in Pioneer Square. Registration is free. \nRegistration closes at the end of the day on Wednesday\, February 1\, and space is limited\, so do it now! \nAt the meet ups\, you will learn how to use the Business Model Canvas to develop a mindset for business success while discovering how your business will generate sustainable revenue and profit. You will share your discoveries with other CIE members and CIE’s volunteer business mentors who will provide useful feedback and ideas for deeper discovery and validation. \nA lean launch meet up is not a class but a simple and flexible process. \nMeet ups will be offered monthly at a regular place and time. You can come every month\, or you can just drop in whenever you need help or want to help others – or if you just need a little inspiration. \nEvery meet up includes a chalk talk about the lean launch approach to starting a business. Then you’ll have an opportunity to make a 5-minute “fast pitch” presentation on your business model\, followed by 5 minutes of discussion and feedback. There will be time at the end of the meet ups to go deeper\, or make connections for one-on- one coaching or mentoring. \nDon’t spend time writing a business plan until you’ve developed your business model. Launch lean!

SUMMARY:Peer Loan Group Meeting #1 of 3
