SUMMARY:Faces of the Community art + poetry event
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Zoom for an art exhibit and poetry reading to celebrate the diversity of our wonderful community! The free event will take place on Thursday\, March 25\, from 6:30-8 p.m. Please register on our Eventbrite page. \nArtist Hoa Hong will talk with community members about her beautiful “Faces of the Community” paintings\, which grace the walls at Spice Bridge. We’ll also experience poetry performances by Foster High School ELL students who participated in the Stories of Arrival: Refugee and Immigrant Youth Voices Poetry Project. Their powerful visual poems\, currently on display at Spice Bridge\, include creative self-portraits\, along with poetry and art that honors homelands\, tells of border crossings and migration\, and speaks to dreams for a more peaceful world. \nThis project is supported\, in part\, by a grant from 4Culture\, and by the City of Tukwila Arts Commission.
