Evolution and Intersection of Race and Religion for American Jews

March 14, 2017 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

In the changing context of American categories of race and religion, Jews have found themselves shifting their identities depending on the times. Join 37-year-old Rabbi David Basior of Seattle’s Kadima Reconstructionist Community for a discussion about how the changing landscape has affected Jewish identity, privilege and assimilation. Hear how a Reconstructionist perspective sheds light on the topic and bring your own personal stories of identity shifting as we will explore the topic together.

This Endless Opportunities event is part of a community-wide program for adults 60+. It is co-sponsored by Jewish Family Service, Congregation Beth Shalom, Temple De Hirsch Sinai and Temple B’nai Torah.
